Twilight star & heartthrob, Robert Pattinson decided to try and hide out and be free for a couple of days late last year and take a road trip from Los Angeles to New Orleans, Louisiana with a couple of his pals. The British star can’t go anywhere since reaching super star status with the vampires franchise, without having the paparazzi and his fans following his every move. So this was an attempt, with his two pals, to travel incognito and just be like the rest of us. They stuck to service roads through America’s southern states and Pattinson admitted it was a world away from the life that he has become used to living in LA:

“It was awesome. I went on service roads the whole time. I navigated it on an iPhone. It didn’t seem like America at all. Me and my friends were the only white people.”

“No one recognised me or anything. And I was like, ‘Ah, this is really cool’, sitting there eating chicken wings and stuff.”

Inevitably with fame, the paparazzi and the fans will catch up with you, as was the case with Pattison during the road trip.  His whereabouts were discovered and police had to show up to help control the crowds and escort he and his pals back to their hotel. source
