Sarah Ehrlich Gives a Flock for World Hunger

Sarah Ehrlich, founder of “Help for Orphans International” (HFOI) announced a new campaign aimed at ending world hunger among orphaned children. The HFOI campaign is called “Give A Flock”. Don’t let the name fool you, they do care and the way they care is by giving chicken coops with egg laying hens to orphanages around the world in cities where food is scarce and malnutrition is rampant.

The way it works is simple; anyone can go to their website and donate $30. Those who donate will receive a t-shirt and that contribution helps get 1 flock of hens. A flock consists of a group of birds. Just one hen provides approximately 1 egg a day for the malnourished orphans and this is a sustainable way to fight the hunger epidemic in developing countries.

In addition to the “Give A Flock” project, Sarah has added movements such as, Operation Backpack, Healthy Smiles, and Clothe the Children which provide much need learning materials, dental care, and clothes to the children of Help the Orphans International.
