You knew this was coming, right?  As Katie Holmes’ family and friends keep talking to the media and tipping them off to why the power couples marriage hit the skids, Tom Cruise has said precious little.  Yesterday Bret Fields, an attorney for Cruise, had this to say,

“We are letting the other side play the media until they wear everyone out and then we’ll have something to say.  He added: “It’s not Tom’s style to do this publicly. He is really sad about what’s happening.”

Obviously, Tom knows how to handle a divorce and what to set his sights on legally as he has done it all twice before.  There is no word yet on what Tom will be going after but I’m going to bet custody of Suri will be at the top of his short list.  The last wife, Nicole Kidman, ran and left the kids behind but I’m pretty positive that Katie will give Tom the battle of his life over their daughter.

Her attorney, Jonathan Wolfe said after the split: “This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family.  Katie’s primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter’s best interest.”
