Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus Being Considered to Judge American Idol

There are lots of rumors swirling over at American Idol.  The show looks like it’ll be going through some transitions and the judging panel for next season is completely up in the air.  Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry are both said to be under consideration for a spot.  Yesterday Adam Lambert addressed speculation that he might join the show, saying he would be thrilled to have such an opportunity.  Other names being tossed around include, Nicki Minaj, Fergie and The Voice UK coach Will.I.Am

Jennifer Lopez has already admitted that her future with the show is in serious question due to scheduling issues.  “I love this show. I love it, I love it,” Lopez previously declared. “We’ll have to see how everything falls, but it’s not because I don’t want to be here.”

A source also says that Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler aren’t rushing to sign new contracts just yet either.

“No one has signed any contracts yet and producers are currently putting out feelers and setting up meetings to see who they can get,” the informant said. “We won’t know if Randy [Jackson] and Steven [Tyler] are returning until they see who else is on board.”

Who do you think would be a great asset to the show as a judge?  Should it be someone as young and new to the business as Miley Cyrus or would it be wiser to look for judges with longevity in the music industry that can really give tried and true advice?  Do you think this will be the year that Randy Jackson finally leaves the show?  Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
