Bachelorette Emily Maynard stepped out in NYC with her new fiancé, Jef Holm, for the first time this week.  The newly minted couple is making the publicity rounds and they appear to be the real deal- or as real as any of these couples can be.  Jef explains the new couple’s game plan,

“We’re going to combine our lives and I’m going to hang out with Ricki all the time and become a car pool dad,” Jef has said. “We’re just going to live our lives together and get accustomed with each other, plan a wedding, and when we get married, move in together.”

Interesting how reality couples’ do things backwards, they get engaged and then build a solid relationship in their day to day lives!  I have to say, I kind of think that Emily and Jef might actually make it down the aisle.  If you watch all of the in between, private little moments between them they do interact like a real couple.

Emily obviously thinks Jef is the one and had this to say in the last Bachelorette episode, “I feel like Jef would make the best husband and the best stepdad ever.”

It’s good to see Emily, once a teen mom to Ricki, now striving to set a really good example for her daughter. She says that Ricki is her “universe” and Jef has now started saying that he can see the little girl becoming his universe as well.  Let’s hope it works out and Ricki doesn’t end up losing another father-figure.
