32-year old Jessica Simpson ballooned up to 170 pounds during her pregnancy. Since welcoming her baby girl, 9-pound,13-ounce Maxwell Drew, the Fashion Star mentor has been working very hard to shed the unwanted pounds. In a recent interview with USA Today, Jessica shares that she is now nearing her weight loss goal, four months after giving birth.
Jessica has been shying out of the limelight lately because she has a big postpartum reveal on September 10th when, as the new celebrity spokeswoman for Weight Watchers, her ads will debut.
With this being Jessica’s first pregnancy, she let herself go and ate anything that she wanted to appease her big appetite and has admitted that her favourite food was macaroni & cheese, yum!
“I let myself indulge in everything I wanted because it was the first time I was ever pregnant, and I wanted to enjoy it.”
Jessica is following the Weight Watchers PointsPlus program, which assigns points to foods based on the amount of protein, fiber, carbohydrates and fat they have in them. Fruits and veggies are zero points, so Jessica could have as many as those as she wants. At first, Jessica was eating about 34 points a day now she is down to 28.
Keeping active is also contributing to Jessica’s weight loss, she straps on the pedometer and walks as well as trains four times per week with her fitness trainer, Harley Pasternak.
Jessica is not the first celebrity to shed the unwanted pounds with Weight Watchers, Jennifer Hudson, Jenny McCarthy and Tina Fey have lost their far share.
