Mother of eight, Kate Gosselin will be taking to stage tonight on the runway for New York Fashion Week. All for a good cause, the 37-year old will be strutting it down the runway for the “Real Fashion, Real Women” show that benefits Bottomless Closet who help disadvantaged women become self-sufficient.
Although most of us know Kate for having twins and sextuplets, which is an amazing thing in itself, nobody can forget her performance on Dancing with the Stars tenth season with professional partner, Tony Dovolani. The couple struggled with Kate’s lack of rhythm and Tony later made fun of her by saying that he was traumatized by the experience, not very professional if you ask me! Regardless of all the negative comments thrown at Kate, she has always kept a positive attitude and didn’t even mind lacing up her dancing shoes again for the upcoming All Stars edition of DWTS, but was turned down.
The Huffington Post reveals that not everyone was fond of the idea of Kate being on the runway:
“We have all been in Twitter wars about Kate,” says host and organizer, Derek Warburton. “They were attacking us for having her in the show. I responded saying, ‘Listen, we are not paying her. She is doing this out of the goodness of her heart.’ What’s remarkable is every time we get a nasty tweet about Kate, she writes and apologizes. She doesn’t care about the haters, but she cares about us, the charity. She must have apologized to me five times for what people say about her.”
In the end, it’s inspiring to see that everyone can make a difference, no matter who they are.
