59-year old Sharon Osbourne, probably best known for being the wife of heavy metal rocker Ozzy Osbourne, is turning 60 in a month and desperate to be fit and healthy.
The Talk cohost has admitted that she has struggled with her weight for years and lost an amazing 100 pounds back in 1999 after having gastric lap-band surgery, but later in 2006 had the band remove because it wasn’t working any longer. Sharon is trying everything and really wants to slim down before she reaches 60, she shared her thoughts with viewers on her talk show, “I sort of realised I am approaching 60 very, very quickly… and I wanna lose weight. I’ve tried everything in my life, you know I’ve had things, a band that didn’t work, I tried everything. And I went in and tried the Atkins diet and in two weeks, I’ve lost 11 pounds.The Atkins diet is a perfect combination for me of vegetables and protein, and I’ve never felt so good. I want to be an inspiration for women between the ages of 50 and 60 to say, ‘You know what, I want to do that, I can do that!’ because 60 is the new 50!”
Sharon has lost 11 pounds in two weeks on The Atkins diet which promotes a low carbohydrate food plan. Personally I tend to lead towards just eating healthy and staying fit, after all, it really is about changing your lifestyle, not going a diet. Regardless, Sharon looks absolutely fabulous and we hope she reaches her goal.
Sharon recently announced that she was quitting America’s Got Talent after a dispute with NBC involving what she believed was disability discrimination against her son Jack.
