Susan Lucci SOUNDS Off at ABC for Cancelling AMC

Emmy award winning actress, Susan Lucci is not happy about the cancellation of All My Children by ABC and has taken her fury to her new autobiography, All My Life: A Memoir, that includes a bonus epilogue she lashes out at ABC execs for the death of fan favorite, All My Children that filmed its last episode on Tuesday of last week and will air its final broadcast episode on Friday, September 23rd, 2011 will be replaced by a food series that is “cheaper to make.”

All My Children: The Ball is in Susan Lucci’s Court

Deadline reports that Prospect Park has made All My Children’s biggest name Susan Lucci a contract offer equal to what she currently makes at ABC, to continue with the soap as it moves online and/or to other platforms.

Lucci has not decided yet what she will do, it was also reported that she may end up on Wisteria Lane but with Desperate Housewives now being in it’s final season, this appears to be a fantastic offer. Looks like the ball is in Lucci’s court!

All My Children: Jacob Young (JR Chandler) Leaving

First Debbie Morgan aka Angie Hubbard and now more sad news for All My Children fans, Jacob Young aka JR Chandler has made the decision to leave the show and return to The Bold and the Beautiful where he will reprise his role as fashion scion Rick Forrester.

While I am sure that The Bold and the Beautiful fans are thrilled,  I can’t say the same for AMC fans like myself. Young shared his leaving the soap with AMC creator Agnes Nixon:

The other day Agnes Nixon was doing an appearance on our show and Julie Carruthers said, “Agnes is looking for you. She wants to say hello. She says she also wants to give you a spanking!” But Agnes, in addition to being a genius, is a lovely lady. She understood. When I found her she was getting her makeup done. I said, “Agnes, how are you?” She said, “Well, I’d be a lot better if you [weren't leaving]. Nah, it’s okay. I just had to put that dig in there! You’ve been so great on the show and we’ve been lucky to have you.” I think everybody understands. To let opportunity pass by during this time of uncertainty is just kind of silly, logistically.”

Sarah Michelle Gellar Going Back to Daytime

Sarah Michelle Gellar, best known for ‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer’ for some, but All My Children fans remember her well as Kendall Hart. AMC has confirmed that Gellar Will return to the soap before it signs off with ABC.

Gellar confirmed the news at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour in LA: ”I can officially confirm I will be doing a guest spot”.

But here’s the strange thing, even though Gellar played Kendall Hart on 30 episodes of the show between 1993 to 1995, that role is now played by Alicia Minshew. How is AMC going to get around that?

Former SEINFELD Star to guest star on ALL MY CHILDREN This Fall

John O’Hurley, best-known for his role as J. Peterman on Seinfeld will make several guest appearances on ABC’s All My Children this fall as Kit Sterling, a producer who approaches Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) to make a movie from the new book she has just written and his first appearance will air on September 12th. This is not first soap appearance for O’Hurley, he has also had stints on Loving and General Hospital.

One Question, why does Erica get all the handsome men?

All My Children’s Babe and Jamie Chandler attend Comic-Con

Alexa Havins (Babe Chandler) and hubby Justin Bruening (Jamie Chandler) attended Comic-Con last week. The couple is returning to All My Children in September to reprise their roles, temporarily, to send of ABC to Prospect Park.

Fans of Alexa Havens can see her in episodes of Torchwood where she portrays Esther Drummond.
