Dole‘s Fruit Crisp gives us all the goodness of your favorite fruit crisp with only 3.5 grams of fat and 160 calories per serving, minus the unhealthy refined white flour, does it get any better? Dole Fruit Crisps are bowls filled with juicy and delicious Dole fruit in a fruit sauce, each with it’s own crispy crumbly topping made with whole grain oats and brown sugar. They come in three varieties; Apple/Cinnamon, Peach and Apple.

Besides the amazing taste, I love how easy Dole makes it for us to enjoy their products. All you have to do is peel the lid back, sprinkle the topping over the fruit and it’s ready to enjoy whether you like it at room temperature, refrigerated, or warmed up slightly in the microwave.

Each Fruit Crisp package contains two grab-and-go bowls, one for you and a friend, or two just for you during your busy work week. They are convenient, easy, HEALTHY and delicious! My favorite way to enjoy Dole Fruit Crisps is at work, around 3:00 pm when I need that little kick to get me going for a few more hours. I warm it up slightly, take a break from a busy day and spend a few minutes recharging with one of my favorite foods. I’m not the only one in my family enjoying Dole”s Fruit Crisps, my boys pack them in their backpacks to enjoy during a break between college classes and my husband loves them in the morning for breakfast.

Dole Hummingbird Mini Loaves

Dole Hummingbird Mini Loaves

Last month I attended BlogHer’12 in New York and had the opportunity to meet with the awesome brand DOLE. I love all the samples I tried and brought many of them home for my family to try. My sons loved Dole’s Real Fruit Bites and Dole Shakers fruit smoothie; they are low in calories and pack well in your child’s backpack on their way to college.

After two weeks of our family getting adjusted to the new college routine, we decided to enjoy a nice family dinner this long weekend and bake the Pineapple Banana Hummingbird Mini Loaf that I tried, several times, at the BlogHer’12 conference. The recipe card you see in the photo above, was generously given to all attendees and I was so excited to share this sinful desert with my family and our readers.

Here are the ingredients that you will need to put on your shopping list.

1 package of yellow cake mix
1 package of JELL-O Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding Pie Filling
4 Eggs
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 can (20 oz.) Dole Crushed Pineapple juice drained and 1 cup reserved
2 medium, ripe DOLE bananas, well mashed (1 cup)
1/2 cup chopped PLANTERS Pecans

2 oz. softened PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese
1 tablespoon of Milk
1/2 cup powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 350F. Combine cake mix, dry instant pudding, reserved pineapple juice, eggs, oil and cinnamon in a large bowl and mix for 2 minutes or until blended. Add crushed pineapple, bananas, and nuts; mix just until blended. POUR prepared batter into 5 foil mini loaf pans sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Bake 40 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely. DRIZZLE Cream Cheese glaze over cooled loaves and garnish with additional chopped pecans, if desired. Makes 30 servings or 5 loaves.

Now for a little change, you can do what my family did and just make one large loaf for the whole gang. Regardless if you do five small loaves, or one loaf, this recipe is absolutely delicious and I am proud to say that the one we baked today, is all gone!

Fit & Healthy Pets Love Martha Stewart & Petsmart

Fit & Healthy Pets Love Martha Stewart & Petsmart

Leading a fit & healthy lifestyle is important to my family and responsible dog ownership means providing the same lifestyle for our dog. Cookie is our five year old pug, she loves to play with toys, her favourite food is red peppers and she is happiest when she is outdoors. I recently returned from BlogHer’12 and brought home some Martha Stewart Pet goodies from PetSmart and you can see in the photo above that she favoured the moose squeaker.

Like me, Martha Stewart is a pet lover who cares about the quality, functionality and durability of pet products; she has teamed up with Pet Smart to bring animal lovers the best products on the market for our beloved pets. At Martha Stewart Pets you can shop for your dog or cat, find tips on how to; slow down your dog’s eating, exercise tips, caring for dog toys, cleaning dog beds, dog coats & grooming, bathing your dog, pet recipes (Cookie’s favourite Martha Stewart recipe is the Blueberry Dog Biscuits) and pet projects.

Martha has two adorable French bulldogs of her own, Francesca and Sharkey; their daily adventures are documented, with plenty of adorable photos on Martha’s website, here.

National Adoption Week is September 14-16 at all Pet Smart stores across North America, it’s a three-day pet adoption event with a goal of helping thousands of animals find a healthy and happy home.  You can read many heart warming stories of successful pet adoptions on Pet Smart’s website. Do you have a story of your own? Share your story with us, we love to hear from our readers.

How Dole Keeps College Students On The Right Track

How Dole Keeps College Students On The Right Track

As a parent, making sure your child is ready for college not only means getting their books, backpacks, pens and schedule ready, it also means making sure your child eats healthy when they are away from home. When I was at the college this week with my sons buying their books, I noticed that there were several vending machines filled with unhealthy foods that I wouldn’t even want to eat – many were filled with preservatives and unhealthy fats and this got me to thinking about Dole, in a good way. I was at BlogHer’12 this month and Dole was a huge sponsor, they not only filled us up with amazing, delicious and healthy foods but they also gave us samples to take home and my sons loved them. As a parent of boys, I know, that if it’s simple and delicious, they will eat it and if it’s not, the won’t.

One of my favourite products at the conference were Dole’s Real Fruit Bites that are made of real fruit, yogurt and toasted whole grains. They offer a healthy snack that packs well in your child’s backpack and are available in three delicious flavours; pineapple, apple and mango, with as low as 80 calories per pack.

Another product I was fortunate to try was the Dole Shakers fruit smoothie and I can honestly tell you that I went back a couple of times for more because they were so delicious. This product is another awesome choice to pack in your child’s backpack and it can actually make the vending machine useful. All your child had to do is buy real fruit juice from the vending machine and shake, that’s it! No blender, no mess and we all know how much children love smoothies. Dole has added all natural fruit and yogurt with pre and probiotics, less than 200 calories and a healthy dose of fiber, calcium and vitamin C, what more can you ask for.

There are more amazing products, some of my old favourites and some news ones that I recently tried, head on over to Dole’s website here  for more information on their full product line for you and your family.
